When I visited Costa Rica this past February, I purchased some for myself and a gift for my friend. It is the best coffee I have ever had. Before discovering your coffee, I drank Hawaiian Kona coffee and Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. The taste of Cafe Rey is far superior to either of those coffees. It is now my only coffee. Well, I grew up in Costa Rica and of course only drink Cafe Rey Tradicional. When I go down to visit my dad, he lives there, I always bring back about 50 bags. When it runs out, my husband and I feel like we cannot survive. We end up drinking the "agua negra" they call coffee in the USA until my next trip. I first discovered Cafe Rey on a trip to Costa Rica. I got a laugh out of a few of the locals when I cleaned out a shelf full of Cafe Rey at a market in Liberia. I tried to explain that you cannot find coffee this good back in the states. Well someone asked if I was on line, I said yes, they picked up a bag out of the cart and showed me the email address. A couple that we know went to Costa Rica and brought us back some of your coffee, the Tradicional. My husband brewed a pot because he is the coffee drinker in the house (I never acquired the taste). An amazing aroma drew me out of my office toward the kitchen. I asked him what that wonderful smell was and he held out a cup of the Cafe Rey Tradicional. After one sip I was hooked. I told him that we had to get more of this coffee. I went online and found Cafe Rey site and was disappointed to see that Tradicional was not offered. I emailed the company and got an immediate reply that they would make it available right away. I assumed that it would be "in a day or so". When I went back to the site a couple of hours later I was amazed to find that it had already been posted and I had received an email that suggested that I also try some of the other coffee available. So far my husband and I have "fallen in love" with all of the Cafe Rey blends that we have tried so far. Our opinion is that Cafe Rey is the Dom Perignon of coffee and that the level of customer service offered is excellent.

Some of the nicest people we have ever met. We took the coffee plantation tour with them when we were in San Jose, Costa Rica a few years ago. They treat their customers like "Kings." The sugar roast coffee, the "Tradicional" is the best I have ever had. So is the Tarrazu. The freshest anywhere.

My last trip to Costa Rica I was fortunate enough to pick up some Cafe Rey. When I got home and tried it I was amazed. Everyone knows Costa Rican coffee is some of the best in the world, but Cafe Rey is the best of the best. I liked it so much I cancelled my coffee club membership with a Hawaiian coffee maker and I am in the process of trying all the Cafe Rey coffee in preparation to join their coffee club.

I am not a coffee drinker, but after visiting Costa Rica twice over the past three years, I have found that I enjoy the taste of Cafe Rey coffee. My wife suggested that I try some as it has the smooth mellow flavor that I would enjoy without the bitter taste found in most coffees in the states. Since then I have been relatively avid in having 4 to 5 cups a week of your fine blend. The only problem was that we ran out of the stockpile that we brought back to the states with us. After months without I went on the net and was pleasantly suprised that I could purchase my one and only brand and have it shipped to my home. It has been a pleasure having it in the house, the only thing that could be better is if I could sip it daily, with my feet up on some beautiful Costa Rican beach.

A few years ago I traveled to Costa Rica with some family. One stop on our trip was a two day stay at the Arenal Volcano. In between hikes through the rain forest and up to the crater we sat on the patio and drank the wonderful Cafe Rey coffee the hotel provided. We fell in love with Costa Rican coffee, and especially Cafe Rey! Even today, as I drink your coffee, I think of the foraging coatimundis and tropical birds, and I will never forget the nearby rumblings of Arenal.

This is the absolute best coffee in the world - so fragant and never bitter. I never really liked coffee until I tasted this. There is no comparison to what we have in the states. My wife and I returned recently from Costa Rica. We spent our honeymoon in your country (and enjoyed it!). We bought several different types of coffee from grocery stores in Fortuna, Tamarindo and Alajuela to bring back to the USA. Your "tipo Tarrazu" Light Roast 500g "Grano" is by far the best coffee we have tasted - better than Britt and some of the more local varieties, such as the Monteverde Co-op coffees.
